Two For The Road [DVD]

Stanley Donen directs this 1960s romantic comedy chronicling the ups and downs of a marriage. Albert Finney and Audrey Hepburn star as the Wallaces,* a couple who have been together with varying degrees of satisfaction for the last 12 years. Architect Mark *(Finney) and musician Joanna *(Hepburn) first met in Europe,* where Mark was backpacking and Joanna was studying music *- and over the years they have continued to love each other,* but are unsure if they are still *'in love'. The film jumps between the couple's honeymoon,* their initiation into parenthood,* their separate infidelities,* and the present,* in which they reminisce together,* analyse their unravelling marriage and decide whether it's worth continuing.
