The Oxford History Of Britain

This one-volume history of Britain tells the story of Britain and her peoples over two thousand years, from the Roman invasion to the present day. The work contains contributions from several historians who explore the relationship between the political, economic, social and cultural transformations in British history. The book reveals the changes which took place in every period and also the pattern of continuity in British cultural and social ideals. This edition, based on the text of the "Oxford illustrated history of Britain", has been updated with a final chapter by Kenneth O. Morgan on the 20th century. Besides maps, the work also contains, genealogies of monarchs and a table of Prime Ministers.
