Set in Berlin in the 1920s, this is the story of the two sons of the banker Felix Bernheim. Paul is gifted and opportunistic, determined to further his career whatever the cost. Theodor is a journalist and an early convert to fascism. The author also wrote "Tarabas" and "Hotel Savoy".
