Résumé
A medieval whodunnit featuring Brother Cadfael. A sudden flood means all the treasures of the Abbey of St Peter and St Paul must be moved to safety, including the bones of St Winifred, which then disappear. A murder soon follows, and Cadfael leaves his peaceful herb garden to investigate.
