With an MA in Germanic languages, the author became interested in culinary terminology as she first stumbled on unknown words in recipes and books about food and drink. That list was the starting point of this glossary, intended for the many people interested in gastronomy in English and in French. L auteur, licenciée en philologie germanique, s intéressa très tôt à la terminologie culinaire, et commença à constituer une liste des mots qui ne lui étaient pas familiers, base de ce glossaire qu elle développa par la suite à l intention d un public passionné de cuisine sans frontières.
