Joint Requirements Engineering: Qfd for Rapid Customer-Focused Software and Internet-Development

Software development is becoming more and more complex and dynamic. The strength of traditional Requirements Engineering methods lies in formalization of existing user requirements. However, if - such as in Internet applications, for example - requirements and/or technical solutions are unclear, a flexible, rapid process is required that integrates know-how of users and developers and focuses on the essential. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) meets these requirements. QFD is aimed at software that presents not all technically possible characteristics but only those that are important for success.
