invloed van artsen-filosofen als Rhazes en Avicenna, evolueerde de
geneeskunde naar een autonome wetenschap. Haar invloed deed zich
zowel in het Westen als in het Oosten gelden. Vandaag wordt zij nog
steeds onderwezen in landen als Indi? en Pakistan.

In Arab culture medicine was highly developed. Under the influence of
physicians/ philosophers such as Rhazes and Avicenne, medicine evolved
into an autonomous science. Its influence was as great in the West as
it was in the East. Today it is still taught in countries such as
