'Round and Round' finds two of today's most creative jazz musicians together for the first time. This album includes superb originals by both players and an interesting take on the standard "Easy Living". Saxophonist Greg Osby has been a progressive force in jazz for nearly twenty years. He's best known for his association with Steve Coleman's M-Base movement, his membership of Jack DeJohnette's "New Directions" and an outstanding series of recordings for Blue Note. A sometimes outspoken and often controversial musician, Osby is always searching for new ways to communicate using different approaches to composition and instrumentation. On 'Round and Round' Copland & Osby place the emphasis firmly on improation within a variety of different structures.
