Résumé

Présentation de l'éditeur The inspired illumination of any given space can amplify its aesthetic impact and take it from the pedestrian to the sublime. And, for years, this excellent reference has guided architects and designers in the achievement of lighting artistry. Enhanced with more than one hundred new illustrations, Interior Lighting for Designers, 4th Edition takes readers step–by–step through the lighting design process as it covers lighting terminology, perception, general design strategies, and much more. Revised to address recent advances in lighting technology and practice, this edition also covers new equipment as well as revised specifications for existing equipment. Color photos of various design applications beautifully illustrate project concepts. Little wonder that this work has been identified as one of the "key preparation references" for design professionals facing their Lighting Certified examination. Quatrième de couverture The revised edition of the highly successful, seminal book that has introduced generations of architects and designers to the principles of lighting Written by one of the world’s masters of architectural lighting design, Interior Lighting for Designers, Fourth Edition clearly and concisely describes the same steps in the lighting design process that a professional follows in practice. Working from the premise that lighting design is a rational process, author Gary Gordon provides a solid conceptual foundation based on the conviction that the lighting condition of interiors has enormous emotional impact on people. With an emphasis on designing light, tools and techniques for every phase of his process are presented as a means to achieve the optimal design. New features in this edition include: Thorough examinations of the latest advances in lighting technology and practice The newest light sources, fixtures, and systems More than 250 illustrations, photographs, and color plates Learn the importance of how objects and surfaces receive light Gary Gordon’s guiding principle and develop the skills to design comfortable environments that encourage productivity and well–being, without an overt display of lighting technique. Brimming with theory and technical information, Interior Lighting for Designers, Fourth Edition is an invaluable reference for both students and design professionals. Biographie de l'auteur GARY GORDON, FIES, FIALD, LC, founder and Principal Lighting Designer of Gary Gordon LLC, has designed lighting systems for more than one thousand corporate, institutional, residential, and retail projects.
