Throughout the course, questions, activities and tasks are provided to:
- develop students' ability to think geographically - to see patterns, make connections and explain concepts
- deepen students' understanding of the content
- improve students' geographical skills, thinking skills and key skills
- encourage students to become more independent learners
- support exam preparation by focusing on ways to compile revision notes and suggesting how to use case study knowledge more strategically when answering examination questions.
This book won the GA Silver Award for outstanding secondary material and is an ideal companion to GCSE courses from all boards. It brings fresh teaching ideas to traditional content areas, as well as intriguing new case studies and topics and a range of tasks unparalleled in any other GCSE Geography textbook.
Revue de presse
...GCSE Geography in Focus has the edge for imaginative activities, with its original "Think" panels which encourage students to recognise links between different topics and understand the rationale for their work. If this book was a geography teacher, I would definitely employ it. (
