Michael Heatley edited the acclaimed History of Rock partwork (1981–84). He is the author of over 50 music biographies, ranging from Bon Jovi to Rolf Harris, as well as books on sport and TV. He has penned liner notes to more than 100 CD reissues, and written for magazines including Music Week, Billboard, Goldmine, Radio Times and the Mail on Sunday colour supplement.
Jake Jackson is creator, editor or contributor to over 30 music books, including 'Guitar Chords', 'Piano & Keyboard Chords', 'Scales and Modes' and 'How to Play Guitar'. As guitarist and songwriter he has gigged in a number of bands, including Slice, The Harmonics and Starbank and studied a form of Flamenco guitar. A heavy user of Sibelius and Logic Pro.
Alan Brown is a former member of the Scottish National Orchestra. He now works as a freelance musician, with several leading UK orchestras, and as a consultant in music and IT. Alan has had several compositions published, developed a set of music theory CD-Roms, co-written a series of Bass Guitar Examination Handbooks and worked on over 100 further titles.
