Thierry Fontaine : chaque homme est une île. Thierry Fontaine : every man is an island

Reunion Island artist Thierry Fontaine creates fotografic paintings and sound installations.

From his first steps into the world of images, the artist, who defines himself as a sculptor, imposed a language derived from an artistic practice linked directly to the body through a privileged medium : photography.

The artist's questions about identity and existence find a formal response through the cry-schown, displayed, stifled or yelled.

The messages and sculptures are all works that question identity : ethnic belonging and attachment to the ever-present native island.
