Quatrième de couverture
Dans son introduction aux différentes contributions de cet ouvrage, Stephen Hagen (CIC Trust, Emmanuel College, England) écrit notamment :
Developments in second language teaching and learning methodology have been overtaken by rapid technological advance. New technology now appears to offer enormous potential for enhancing language teaching and learning in all its facets, ranging from Computer Assisted Language Learning on a stand-alone, or in a networked classroom, to mass consumer language learning by satellite broadcasts beamed directly into people's homes. The speed of the advance, however, raises questions over the appropriateness of existing methods of language learning, whilst opening up new horizons for innovative language learning, which are limited only by the imagination. Above all, language teachers and trainers need information about the status of current technological development and its impact on language learning from the experienced practitioners. These conference papers provide a range of views, evaluations and descriptions of technology in language learning.
