Tim Lyons is a 23-year-old American photographer and a philosophy student who was visiting Paris for the first time that week and Pierre Rabourdin a 22-year-old French university student who was working at the time on a thesis exploring the development of French national identity. Biographie de l'auteur Pierre was born and raised in Paris. He has always been interested in interfaith dialogue and religious integration in France. Pierre has earned degrees in Religion and Philosophy with a focus on Islam at Columbia University and Sciences Po Paris. He was spending the holidays with his family in Paris during the attack. Tim is an artist based in New York, NY. His practice was informed by an early influence of documentary photography. The two authors met during their studies at Columbia University in New York City, where Tim was completing his bachelor in Philosophy. When the attacks occurred, he was being hosted by Pierre for his first trip to Paris.
